Election process
-
Each year the four CMB Members elected by the practices must take it in turns to retire, although they can stand for re-election if they wish. The re-election process will take place at the AGM.
-
The CMB member who has stood the longest on the CMB will retire first. If CMB members were elected to the CMB at the same time, the CMB members will agree between themselves who will retire, or they will draw lots.
-
Prior to the AGM all practices are to be informed by the Business Director a) which of the CMB Members is due to retire from the CMB and b) that an election process will take place at the AGM.
-
Any GP or Practice Manager who would like to be a member of the CMB may put themselves forward for election. They must do so by the deadline specified by the Business Director.
-
All names of those up for election to the CMB are to be emailed to each practice.
-
All those wishing to cast a vote are to inform the Business Director at least one week before the AGM. The weight of each of these is to be calculated according to list size and distributed to every practice.
-
There shall be no bar to re-election to the CMB, so the retiring CMB member can stand for re-election.
-
There is no proxy in place and any members wishing to cast a vote will need to do so in person at the AGM.
-
In the event that a CMB place is contested, the nominee with the highest share of the vote shall be elected to the CMB.
-
If the practice members at the AGM do not fill the vacancy, the retiring CMB member shall be reappointed unless the AGM specifically resolves not to fill the vacancy or unless a resolution for the reappointment of the CMB member is put to the meeting and lost.
-
All practices and CMB Members are to be notified of changes to the CMB members.
-
If practices abstain this does not affect any other practice's vote size.
